While the Kentucky government is in the midst of attempting to seize domain names from some of the leading online poker sites, a poker player advocacy group is asking the Governor to support legislation that would see regulate online gaming in the United States.
Jeffrey Sandman, a spokesperson for the Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative (www.safeandsecureig.org), issued a statement encouraging Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear to support the legislation and gives him good reason to get on board.
““The Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative calls on Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear to support the regulation of Internet gambling as a way to protect Kentuckians and generate billions of dollars in new revenue, rather than seeking to prohibit the activity,” said Sandman.
According to the statement over the next 10 years Kentucky alone could receive $556 million based on the Investing in our Human Resources Act (H.R.6051), which is currently pending.
